Inception Workshop

Microveg Project is a Canadian International Food Security Research Fund (CIFSRF) sponsored project in West Africa. Upon successful completion of the first phase, International Development Research Center (IDRC) has awarded a sum of $5 million CAD to merge and scale up two projects involved in the first phase, Project 106511(Better vegetable-growing opportunities for Nigerian women) and Project 106516 (Better fertilizer use in the Sahel). Five institutions are involved in this scaling up phase PROJECT 107983, Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State University, Nigeria, University of Parakou, Benin, University of Manitoba and University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
The inception workshop for the Microveg project took place at Osun State University, Oshogbo, Nigeria from 23rd March to 30th March 2015.
The theme was SYNERGIZING FERTILIZER MICRO-DOSING AND INDIGENOUS VEGETABLE PRODUCTION TO ENHANCE FOOD AND ECONOMIC SECURITY OF WEST AFRICAN FARMERS
